Technology continues to fuel creative new learning materials launched by the Helen Doron Educational Group with the release of the all-new Helen Doron Read and Write programme. This unique programme, for ages 4 to 9 years old, allows students to actually teach themselves to read while simply having fun in a new and dynamic interactive format.
Thirty-two interactive reading books with an original interactive app for smart phones and tablets allows students, from even pre-school age, to learn to read— fuelled by their own curiosity and joy with minimal adult moderation. Kids are able to click on an image and hear the story in English, learning at their own, self-guided pace. Letter by letter, word by word or full sentence narration teaches reading effortlessly. CEO Helen Doron explains, “This reading app is the first of its kind. Children world-wide can interact with it and reach a high level of reading skills in English. Using the technology around us to teach valuable skills in a fun and energizing way is one of the goals that we, at Helen Doron Educational Group, have set out to accomplish. This new learning-to-read app joins a host of other technology-based English learning tools we have developed to augment Helen Doron English classroom learning.”
The beautifully designed books and workbooks are engaging and teach children English reading and writing skills. Specialized programme materials are introduced by the teacher in the learning sessions and students continue learning at home, either independently or with their parents, using a tablet or smart phone application to activate the workbooks.
In countries that use the Latin alphabet, the Helen Doron Read programme can be taught without the writing component. In the classroom, these students will focus solely on reading and use the workbook to continue learning at home. A web-based version for PC’s and IOS devices is currently in development.
Anne Gordon, Vice President, Customer Business Development adds, “We are very excited with the possibilities this new programme offers our franchise organization. Now our over 800 locations around the world will be able to expand their offerings into the new paradigm of mobile applications.” See how Helen Doron Educational Group partners with technology to bring a new dimension to English Everywhere programming.
