Helen Doron Radio launches new app to make listening and interacting with the innovative EFL/ESL learning tool even easier than before.
Helen Doron Radio, the only online English as a second/foreign language (ESL/EFL) radio station for teens, announces a new radio app, now available in both Android and iPhone versions. In addition to enabling listening to Helen Doron Radio, the app features: a live chat to communicate directly with the broadcasters, favourite song request field, daily programming schedules and information about TeenBuzzRadio and Helen Doron English.
Built on Helen Doron English’s successes over the past 30 years, Helen Doron Radio for teens was launched August 20, 2013. The 24/7 programming is targeted at helping young people all over the world improve their English through: music, stories, quizzes, contests, several types of news, special guest interviews on various topics, targeted country weeks where the teens interview each other about their likes and lives, and more. All content is specifically geared towards teenagers, and the station attracts teen listeners from over 100 countries, who participate in the diverse, interactive broadcasting through the live chat, weekly head-to-head song competition and a daily variety of contests with prizes.
Marilyn Glazier, Radio Marketing Manager and Broadcaster remarked, “From feedback we have received through our social media channels, as well as our online chat feature, we have learned that English as a second language (ESL) teachers and professors, even in English-speaking countries, are using Helen Doron radio as a teaching tool and integrating the reading comprehension and other topical segments into their lesson plans, as well as recommending that their students listen outside of class.”
The launch of the app coincided with the annual international franchise conference where franchisees from all over the world gathered to share their experiences and learn more about the newest Helen Doron English programmes and developments, as well as sales and promotion of the company’s diverse educational products.
Held in scenic Dubrovnik, Croatia where the global educational franchise celebrated 30 years of success, Helen Doron Radio personalities Richard Freedman and Marilyn Glazier broadcasted several live shows featuring interviews with Master Franchisors and Learning Centre franchisees.
Richard Freedman, Radio Manager and Broadcaster commented, “We had 20,000 listeners a month before the app was available, and we anticipate that number will quickly double due to the ease of using our app. Our team enjoys the ongoing contact with our listeners and we feel strongly that the radio station’s content and music selections continue to be influenced by our audience. “
